WWDBlog: Who are you favorite designers?
Maria Sharapova: Chloe, Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and Rick Owens, but I travel so much that it depends. A lot of pieces that I have I'm able to wear a lot and layer. I love blazers and jackets and paring them with loose, cool wide legged pants. I'm tall and I feel like I can get away with that a little more.

WWDBlog: What about shoes?
MS: I'm always in flats; I'm a ballerina type of girl. I'm obsessed with my Bacara ballet flats from Cole Haan. I don't wear too many heels -- only to an event or dinner or a night out.

WWDBlog: How would you describe your personal style?
MS: My style is pretty relaxed and it's not too fussy. I don't like crazy prints. I like sophisticated prints. Nothing too wild or too tight. I do like to accessorize -- I have one suitcase that's just shoes and bags.

WWDBlog: Tell us about this suitcase.
MS: I don't like to travel with too much jewelry. It's chunky and heavy and it always adds to the mass. My favorite accessory is bold watch, the Tag Heuer Formula 1 ceramic watch. They just launched it in a bigger size this year, which I'm very excited about. It's a statement piece, and when you wear it you never have to worry about any other accessories.

WWDBlog: What is your red carpet style?
MS: I try to keep it to flowy and sophisticated, but also edgy -- and pay attention to detail. I don't like too many fussy things going on with material and color. I like to experiment with silhouettes.

MS: When I hesitate on what to wear, I always go with Lanvin. You can never go wrong with Lanvin. You always feel elegant.
